In the office they perform the duties of writing out passes, running errands for Mrs. Beebe, Mr. Burns, and a number of teachers, collecting absentees, etc. The librarians also do a lot for our school. They meet the students' needs by helping them find wanted books and checking out the books. They also provide help for the Grain Valley ele- mentary libraries. VOLUNTEERS! 29 Q-

They, along with the other members, traveled to Sil- ver Dollar City for a field trip on May 1. At monthly meetings during the year, guest speakers were in- vited to attend. Mueller, Rita Schreier, Ben Winemiller, Tonja Shoffner, Row 3- First semester forensic students had two meets with area schools during the semester. The first was the I-70 fall festival held at Wellington High School. Contestants brought home all superior or excellent ,. ratings. The second contest was held at St. Paul's and Lisa Eichenberger received second place with her entry in oratory. Even though the forensic class ended at semester, the mernbersicontinued to compete. The next event was the I-70 Spring Conference. The one act play, Summer People,'f consisting of six forensic mem- bers, received third place for their endeavors. Grain Valley received third place overall in this competi- '-ft tion at Sweet Springs. The final competition of the year was district con- test in Warrensburg. Iackie Fountain and Tamira 1 Hillbrand advanced into finals, as did Kim Lynch in 1 radio speaking.
