E SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY One evening as I was sitting by my fire- side, my thoughts began to wander back to my high school days. While I was thus engaged, I fell into a peaceful slumber. It was a warm June day and one ideally suited for a class reunion. The fifteen for- mer students of Grain Valley were gathered for their first meeting since they graduated in May l938. We,wondered just how these for- mer classmates of ours had spent the years that had gone by. So we inquired with some surprising results. Pauline McQuerry was the first to come under our wandering eyes. Here indeed was cause to be proud to know Paula. She proved that women can have careers and a home at the same time. She was a distin- guished musician, and a well-known teacher of piano. Her husband was instructor of voice at a music conservatory and a very brilliant man. Here was a happy and well spent life. Vern Dodson had fulfilled his highschool ambition and was pitcher in a big-league ball team. He was happily married, and was the proud father of a three year old son which he declared would be another Babe Ruth, if not better. Harold Hackley eral garages. Here makes good. Harold chanic and had soon world. He had been was now the owner of sev- was a case of poor boy had started out as a me- made his place in the married for several years and had one daughter. After spending a few years in idle work, Mary Edna settled down to painting. The first few years were spent in commercial painting, but now Mary Edna is painting artistically.
