PAGEANT aS On the evening of December 2, 1972, a week of hard work and frustrations came to an end. At 8:00 P.M., the lights dimmed and the Master and Mistress of ceremonies, Edward Patten and Pam Mincy, intro- duced the twelve lovely contestants, who were in casual dress, as they appeared on stage. Talent and evening gown competition followed, after which the judges left to cast votes. During the judges’ delibera- tion, the GHS Stage Band entertained. After a short interval, the three finalists were an- nounced: Miss Kay Chester, Miss Kathy Linens, and Miss Janice Blaylock took honors. The finalists were asked two questions, one humorous and one Serious. Soon, the moment arrived: Miss Janice Blaylock was crowned Miss GHS of 1973. First runner-up was Miss Linens and Second Runner-up, Miss Chester. Other awards were Miss Congeniality, Miss Eve Car- men, and Most Talented non-finalist, Miss Sue Ham- lett.
