The sports program continues as the seasons go round. After one sport comes another in a never-ending cycle. Even though we have defeats in our athletic program, we have not abandoned that program. {Although the game is lost, the rule of the circle game is that nothing can be relived; we must think of the next game and dream of victory,) So our sports program spirals, changing with the seasons into an always widening whirlpool. And in this whirlpool of sports, we try to create a whirlpool of Graham High School Spirit. And this spirit is stirred round and round and round in the circle game. )Y) editors: jerry evans doug bradburn randy avinger 1970 Graham High School ES Herbie Johnson 75 Larry Boggs 44 Mike Rogers 10 Tackle Halfback Quarterback Troy Fuller 31 Split End Larry Riggan 50 Center __— Joey Sizemore 74 Jay Fuller 14 Tackle Defensive Halfback Senior ge Me Keith Denny Trainer Football Team BAL Jackie Jeffries 41 Tim Whitman 20 Wingback Worth McPherson 30 Defensive Halfback Fullback i oe J. Cartwheels lost to carwheels through the town When we come to Graham High School, our interests in life are just beginning to develop from those of a child to those of an adult. Here, our service clubs and other organizations help us widen our circle of interests, activities, and friends. As the high school years go by, our own circles widen to include more friends in an ever changing and broadening pattern. We become better individuals from_our acquaintance with the lives and interests f others, ane this brief acquaintance will help us as we Srepare for the future. No matter how many years go by or how many times our interests change, we can look back and reflect on the 1970-71 year when we were all part of the Graham High School circle. As cartwheels were lost to carwheels, our interests - here will soon be lost to others. So let us look back at our 1970-1971 circle of interests at Graham High School. Wood 148 the editor’s desk To the students, faculty, and administration of GHS; As the end of the school year draws near, the theme of the ’71 WAG takes on an even greater meaning of importance. It shows us all that even though we have had diverse emo- tions of this past year, along with our own trials and tribulations, we also have those people who were very close to us all during the year to always remember. I cannot look back over this past year without feeling a great sense of appreciation for our sponsors, Mrs. Ballard and Mr. Krovetz. All the help and support that they gave the WAG staff throughout this past year will not be forgotten. I also cannot help but remember the help the staff received from Mrs. Stephens, Mr. Janke, and Mr. Littlefield in developing fabulous pictures for our yearbook. I wish to thank Max Ward and Jeff Overby, our Delmar Representatives, for their services and patience over the past year. I cannot help but look back on the 1971 WAG staff. I would like to thank all those members who showed great in- terest, devotion, and especially work on this year’s WAG. I now place the responsibility of the '72 WAG on the shoulders of next year’s editor and staff with the hope that they will set high goals and continue on what we have hopefully accomplished. Most of all, I hope that you, the students, faculty, and administration will find on each and every page of the 1971 WAG meaningful moments of this past year. To all of you, I proudly present the 1971 WAG.
