Last Will And Testament We, the graduating class of Graham High School, inthe year of our Lord, Nine- teen Hundred and Fifty-Six, being ina peaceful and undisturbed state of mind, do hereby give and bequeath all our worldly goods and possessions inthis our Last Will and Testament. To our beloved Graham High School and its Faculty we extend our heart-felt appreciation for the foundation of our edu- cation -- our kéy to success. To the Student Body, we leave our set of keys in hopes that it will be used wisely to open the door to a fuller life. Margaret Carter leaves twenty pounds, Carolyn Blackwelder leaves her love for boys to Evelyn Semiklose. Freddy Hamby wills his dancing ability to Bob Clapp. David Stuckey leaves his French book to any poor fool who wants it. Freddy Thompson bequeaths his popu- lar dramatic career to Charles Andrew. Gene McElroy hands down his Presi- dency of Student Council to Larry Lee. Clydie Bryant and Cornelia Guthrie ' leave their undying love for shorthand to Glenda Ritchie and Voncile Shepherd. Butch Gates leaves his ''Most Valuable Player'' award to Jeff Newcomb. Gary Bullis hands downhis ''Most Ath- letic'’ superlative to Sonny Johnson. Ronnie Hill leaves his versatility to Wallace Martin. Bill Boswell wills his studiousness to Billy Stokes. : Gerrell Russell leaves his initiative in D.O.to John Andrews. Jane McCorkle bequeaths her 'cat glasses'' to Bidney Ann Lester. Jimmy Harden wills his friendship with Mr. Hawkins to Celeste Bayliff. Robert Farrell leaves his pleasant dis- position to Ralph Stockard. Willie Edwards hands downhis ''Block- ing'' trophy to Jackie Rich. Mary Lynn Belcher wills her sewing ability to Annie Faye Russell, Amanda Austin leaves her love for nursing to Judy Barnhart, Larry Gurkinleaves his sweet person- ality to Charlie Thompson. Faye Dean Crutchfield bequeaths her mixed up questions to Clara Jo Wilson. Gerald Donley leaves 50 pounds to David-Geod Giitaneaey wills his love for sport cars to Timmy Cates, Carolyn Pugh hands down her Honor Society pin to Johnny Watkins. Haywood Murray leaves his ability to get along with teachers to all Freshmen, Ted Hogan leaves his quick temper to Alease Pulliam. Janice Small leaves Bookkeeping for Sylvia Cole. Horton Callahan wills his clothes to Hal McAdams. Billy Copeland bequeaths his false teeth to Jerry Capps. Class A key clicks in the lock. Slowly a door swings open. But it is not an ordinary key or an ordinary door, It is the key and the door to the future. Our class in 1976 is revealed. Johnny Thompson, the Democrat candidate for thepresidency, has promised in his campaign speeches thatif he i$ elected, he will move the capital to Graham and will allow Robert Farrell and David Johnson, the famous architects, to design the new capitol buildings. Bill Ausley, Bill James, Gary Bullis-and Butth Gates, are fighting to see which one will plan the new super highway from Washington to Graham after the Demorrats are vict- orious,. Willie Edwards, the rich country squire, has just added a new training gym to his collection of a clothing store, service station and used-car- lot. Jane McCorkle, his secretary, is busy making money and keeping up Bill Boswell, who has not yet found a job. Jimmy Harden is finding it hard to keep a job these days; it seems that he's spending most of his time on the road to Tennessee, Gene McElroy, the noted lawyer, and Larry Hill, following in his fath- er's footsteps as mayor, are now marking time until Jean McDonald and Dottie Roddy finish school. Mrs. Cecil Moser, the former Clydie Bryant,is nowcelebrating her 20th wedding anniversary. Ronnie Hill) taking James Mason's place, and Melvin Paris, the new Tarzan, have just signed a new contract with MGM studios, Melvin Russell and Freddy Hamby have taken over both of Burl- ington's radio stations. Jim Ferrell has finally finished college and atlast he and the former Jane Flythe have settled downto raise a family. Prophecy Janice Small, Faye Crutchfield, Mona Owen, Barbara Conklin, Carolyn Burns, and Martha Bryan are quitedomesticated as they spend their lives throwing pots and pans at their husbands. Mary Lynn Belcher, Eugene Lashley, Larry Gurkin, Carolyn Blackwelder, Amanda Austin, Barbara Johnson, and Ernestine Longest have now completed their world-wide church hospital and wel- fare center. Johnny Burnette is now president of Sealtest Dairy with Cornelia Guthrie's dairy farm furnishing the milk. Billy Copeland, Haywood Murray, Craig Curtis, David Phillips, and David Stuckey are still visiting the Library trying to decide on their fu- ture jobs. Dr. H. C, Callahan is head sur- geon at Alamance County Hospital with Margaret Carter as his favorite lab technician. Diane Loy and Ted Hogan have taken up where Einstein left off. Miss Popularity of 1976, Janice Isley, has as her manager, Jean Moore, her private beautician, Diane Long, and her designer, Eleanor Young. BuckyHamby and, Freddy Thompson have stepped into the shoes of Mr. Lou Roshelli and Mr. George Heckman. Joe Moize, Gerrell Russell, and Gerald Donley are now attempting to build the largest hosiery mill Bur- lington has ever seen, Mignon Saunders andCarolyn Pugh, the famous novelists, have just completed their new book paralleling Gone With The Wind using as their subject, Graham and the Class of 1956.
