Class A key clicks in the lock. Slowly a door swings open. But it is not an ordinary key or an ordinary door, It is the key and the door to the future. Our class in 1976 is revealed. Johnny Thompson, the Democrat candidate for thepresidency, has promised in his campaign speeches thatif he i$ elected, he will move the capital to Graham and will allow Robert Farrell and David Johnson, the famous architects, to design the new capitol buildings. Bill Ausley, Bill James, Gary Bullis-and Butth Gates, are fighting to see which one will plan the new super highway from Washington to Graham after the Demorrats are vict- orious,. Willie Edwards, the rich country squire, has just added a new training gym to his collection of a clothing store, service station and used-car- lot. Jane McCorkle, his secretary, is busy making money and keeping up Bill Boswell, who has not yet found a job. Jimmy Harden is finding it hard to keep a job these days; it seems that he's spending most of his time on the road to Tennessee, Gene McElroy, the noted lawyer, and Larry Hill, following in his fath- er's footsteps as mayor, are now marking time until Jean McDonald and Dottie Roddy finish school. Mrs. Cecil Moser, the former Clydie Bryant,is nowcelebrating her 20th wedding anniversary. Johnny Burnette is now president of Sealtest Dairy with Cornelia Guthrie's dairy farm furnishing the milk. Billy Copeland, Haywood Murray, Craig Curtis, David Phillips, and David Stuckey are still visiting the Library trying to decide on their fu- ture jobs. Dr. H. C, Callahan is head sur- geon at Alamance County Hospital with Margaret Carter as his favorite lab technician. Diane Loy and Ted Hogan have taken up where Einstein left off. Miss Popularity of 1976, Janice Isley, has as her manager, Jean Moore, her private beautician, Diane Long, and her designer, Eleanor Young. BuckyHamby and, Freddy Thompson have stepped into the shoes of Mr. Lou Roshelli and Mr. George Heckman. Joe Moize, Gerrell Russell, and Gerald Donley are now attempting to build the largest hosiery mill Bur- lington has ever seen, Mignon Saunders andCarolyn Pugh, the famous novelists, have just completed their new book paralleling Gone With The Wind using as their subject, Graham and the Class of 1956.
