Upon CDepartingfD Farewell to Thee, our childhood fort, To Thine every class and sport, To those who taught us true and long, To stalwart be in shunning wrong. As we Thy rooms and campus leave, There's none of us who does not grieve, And as we wander far and wide, Fore'er we'll speak of Thee with pride. When in our heads gray hair will grow, When faltering are our steps, and slow As swiftly fades our carefree youth, Still euphony will be but truth. In parting, our most hopeful trust Is that the ones who follow us Will be but greater, stronger throngs, And sweetly sing the parting songs.
