The largest section in the band is the clarinet section which provides the main body of sound as well as decorative passages. Howard Miller. Sherry Bryan, Connye Miller, Dorothy Gilmore, Judy Green, Barbara Clarkston, Kay Smith, Barbara Freeman. Gwen Bevers, Shirley Rogers, Elizabeth King, Annette Brown, Mellie Chestnut, and Beulah Lehr play clarinet. Karyn Dougless, Brenda Faulkner, Murry Mattox, Jerry Mahaney, and Jimmye Shipman play French Horn. The light, airy sounds of the flutes of the band are furnished by Judy Klinger, Nancy Mahaney, Bunnye Miller, Carol Gilmore, and Jov Blansit. Oboe and bassoon are played by Gwen Brown, Doris Mowrey, Linda Freeze, Geraldine Cody, and Mary Alice Odom. Drum Major Steve Baker has done outstanding work in his position two years. 25
