Not pictured Joanna Mathena, Advisor WHO IS THE REAL SHADOW? EVANGELISM ... The students and faculty alike at BCE are en¬ couraged to defend the faith, and be ready always to give an answer for their hope. They share the knowl¬ edge that they receive through their various ministries and personal witnessing. Tim Hudson shares his knowledge with students at Concord College, as he teaches in the “New Testament Way.” Dale Wood defends the faith as he preaches to the church each Lord’s day. Jim Conley and Larry Mullen, working in the Bland County prison, let those behind bars know that they can have freedom in Christ. Bart Wynegar, Dottie Wyatt, Leroy Overholser and Linda Nixon share their hope and peace as they witness on the campus and on the street. 53 ■ II 111 i ' t jr Many of the students visit daily the hospitals, comforting those who are sick. Kenny McFarling shares love and understanding to those in convalescent homes. John Witt preaches to thousands weekly on the radio station in Hinton, W. Va. A method of evangelism of the early church was going from door to door, spreading the Gospel. Dean Stowe and Debbie Hauger follow this method as they call in the community. 54 In Memonum On Palm Sunday, March 23, 1975, David E. Branholm laid aside his wings of service and made his final flight into the New Jerusalem. Father, friend, President, he piloted his way into the hearts of all with whom he came in contact. On one of his many weekend revivals, his Piper Comanche plumeted to the earth near Washington, Indiana in severe winds and thunderstorms, severing his love, his life, and his friendship from all those who knew him as “Bro. Dave.” The plane went down at 5:37 p.m. Midnight soon settled .. . and to you, Bro. Dave . . . Good night. .. but we’ll see you in the morning. % . ... dear friends in Christ. I bestow upon you my mantle of dedication and service in double portion that you may carry on in my spirit of enthusiasm for lost souls. I have encouraged you from the sacred desk, endeavored to train you from the class room and exemplified for you concern for the unsaved. Til morning comes . . .by a shining light to call men out of the darkness of sin that they might overcome him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony; even as I loved not my life unto death, but gave it for the cause of Christ.
