BORN IS THE KING . . . The choir, under the direction of Mrs. Richardson, helped us feel the real spirit of Christmas with their inspiring numbers in the pre- holiday program. Evaluation ,al SUCCESS Graham was officially accepted into the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools after the evaluation was completed. The presentation was made in Dallas, Texas, in November, Everyone agreed that the results were well worth the effort. VIP'S VISIT GRAHAM Evaluators, school board members, and special guests enjoyed the banquet held the first evening of the evaluation. Teachers and visitors enjoyed the opportunity to meet informally. wr , I TEACHERS HARD AT WORK Teachers at Graham worked for over a year on the information needed for the evalua- tion. BROWN Mr. Clark M. Brown was born in Elkins, West Virginia, and was graduated from Elkins High School in 1922. After attending prep school for a year at Princeton, New Jersey, Mr. Brown continued his education at Davidson and Elkins College and Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He did graduate work at West Virginia University before coming to Bluefield, West Virginia, where he taught at Fairview ' C7 yearsj and Beaver C7 yearsj while coaching at these schools. After working at the Jewel Ridge Coal Company, he attended UVA where he earned a masters degree. Mr. Brown has been at Graham for six years, coming here from Richlands. Mr. Brown's interest in athletics ,has never faded, but he says his main interest now is in promoting better education. CC JJ Unforgetable Burrhead I 949 1968 Steve Ward After 19 years as coach at Graham, Mr. Lawrence Bradley is leaving to accept a position Earl Michaels All County Team in Sullivan County, Tennessee, where he will be challenged to build a football team in a All County Team new school, East High School. Corky Rutherford All County Team Kyle Workman Booster Award Burrhead's boys won recognition for an outstanding performance in 1967, as in the past. Born in Matoaka, West Virginia, he received degrees from Concord College and WVU. He met Phyllis Cartmill while stationed with the Marines in California, and they were married in 1944.
