Winter Comes to G.H.S. | SCA TREE SILENT NIGHT, HOLY NIGHT Student Council members decorated a tree and invited students to bring gifts of food for the needy. GAA CAROLERS Snow did not prevent these happy singers from wishing a Merry Christmas in song on December 20. SPEECH CLASS PERFORMS SANTA'S VISIT Annually the Speech Class and Choir present a Christmas program. The choral readings were ''The Nativity'' and ''Christmas Canticle’. Cleo Lawson Mitchel Cheryl Butner 1964 Elwood Porshia Radford College a at on College The Cleo Lawson Mitchel Scholarship was established by Ormsby MacKnight Mitchel in memory of his wife, Cleo Lawson Mitchel, who spent her childhood in Bluefield. A trust fund was set up to provide ascholarship each year for some worthy college bound student -- preferably a girl going into education. Other funds have been granted from the Mitchel Foundation. Four students are now sharing these awards. Mr. Mitchel'sinterestin edu- cation will make it possible for many students to go to college.
