THE GRAHAM 1956 PUBLISHED BY GRAHAM HIGH SCHOOL Biuefieid, Virginia . -v 2 — Alma Mater Nestled near East River ' s ridges With its lines of blue; Stands our noble Alma Mater Glorious to view. G-Men faithful, G-Girls grateful, Conquer and prevail Hail to thee our Alma Mater Graham High all hail. In 1913 the corner stone was laid for Graham High School. In 1955 the corner stone was laid for a new building at Double Gates. The Harmon Masonic Lodge was in charge of the ceremony. The Worshipful Master of the Lodge was L. N. Dalton also Principal of Graham High School. Before we leave let us review the last year at the old building. It takes a lot of living in a house to make a home so for many of us the old building will always be OUR school and hold a place in our hearts. EDITOR Bernice Singleton Members of the Staff: Virginia Bates, Nancy Buchanan, Becky Combs, Patty Doak, Eleanor Douthat, Jean Dudley, Ida Ellen Hederick, Patsy McNew, Adean Perdue, Patsy Ruble, Bernice Singleton, Beth Slemp, Betty Spurgeon, Dada Thompson. BUSINESS MANAGER Patsy McNew CO-BUSINESS MANAGER Betty Spurgeon CO-EDITOR Becky Combs Dedication We take great pleasure in dedicating the 1956 Annual to MR. LAWRENCE (BURRHEAD) BRADLEY. As coach and athletic director at Graham for six years, he has rejoiced with the G-Men in victory and consoled them in defeat. His patience and understanding have inspired the boys to do their best. Get in there and play a good game, he tells them; and they know he means in all phases of life, not just in that one ball game. As instructor of Driver Education he has made Graham students safer drivers. For all the students we say, Thank you. Selected Basketball Coach of the year in ' 56. The Staff J. L.
