In its many years of service, it has been the house of learning for thousands of students. Much knowledge has been acquired in its classrooms, and many memories have been attained in its halls--memories which will outlive any material structure. Special programs, lectures, lyceums, banquets, fashion shows, beauty contests, and cooking schools are some of the activities which have benefited the community. Grafton High School has been a center of activities of the Grafton area while still continuing its high standards of education. 3 SUPERINTENDENT 0 % J. Kerns, J. Jenkins, P. Moats, K. Godwin-, C. Paul, besides being a scholar, is a friendly, young man with the ability to do many things well. He is an athlete, a student government member, and a class officer. A sense of humor marks our second scholar, Gary Shafer. Gary's wit and congenial personality have made him a well-liked student. SALUTATORIAN 14 Third in her class is Jane Dorton who has a habit of doing many things and doing all of them well. Jane is one of the rare ones whose flashing smile and happy laugh are as much her trademark as her good grades. A Broad grin, a twinkling eye, a both foot-on-the-ground attitude, and excellent grades make our fifth honor student David Withers an interesting person. II Blonde, blue-eyed and busy is scholar number four, Martha Moats. Besides making good grades Martha has had time to become an excellent public speaker and a poised young woman in any situation. Our sixth honor student is Durley Mayle. Durley is one of those persons who chooses his goal and works toward it with quiet assurance. 15 Sharon McCracken has earned seventh place in our honors list. Sharon is a smiling blonde with a personality to match her grades. She is friendly and efficient--a nice person to know. Athletic, happy, a neat dresser and an excellent student is Rebecca Lynch, our ninth honor student. Becky is one of those people who has the drive to enable her to reach her goals. A congenial grin indicates the personality of scholar number eight, Donald Reed. Don is quietly responsible and fun to know. Here is a friendly well-rounded student. Our tenth place was earned by Ida Able. Ida is one of those lovely people who is a delight to know and a responsible person in all instances. 16 Darlene Wood is one of our public speakers. She has participated in many oratorical contests. In spite of all this activity her grades have remained high. Darlene is our eleventh honor student. A broad grin, snapping blue eyes and fun to know is Daniel Starford. Dan's activities have been many, but his grades were maintained also. Dan is the twelfth honor student. Our thirteenth honor student is famous for her courtesy. Helen Hart is a well-rounded, responsible person and a friendly one, but her good manners have earned her the respect of all. Fourteenth place in the honors list goes to two pco pie, Janice Malone and Kyle Harman. Janice is probably best known for her efficiency. 17 Also In fourteenth place is Kyle Harman. Along with his high academic record we'll remember Kyle for his friendly smile and assured manner. Linda DeMoss is our fifteenth honor student. We can say of Linda the best thing one can say of any girl; she is a lady. Linda is a quiet, sincere, attractive girl and a pleasure to know. Lots of get up and go, a wild sense of humor and impish brown eyes characterize our sixteenth honor student, Louis Spadafore. Hiding under that grin is a student with ability and a great sense of responsibility. 18 SENIOR - ► 4 Susan Marshal Bartlett Allen Michael Boyles Gary Lee Brown Robert Michael Bolyard _ jm Rue Ann Boyles Virginia Lee Bryan John Lester Bord Lovetta Sue Bradley Pamela Kay Bunner 21 Linda Jo Burgreen Linda Lou Carder .4 Michael Stephen Carroll Lawrence Wayne Clark Karen Lee Collins Jason Milburn Cost 22 Henrietta Corbin Pamela Constance Dalton Robert Dale DeLaney Sharon Arm Devers Linda Ann DeMoss Wilma Jean Dawson Richard Lee DeMoss Richard Neil Densmore 24 Randall Joe Durrett Barbara Jo Fawcett JoEllen Foley Sandra Kay Garrett Barbara Jean Goff Michael Wayne Goodwin Sebra Sue Gall Donald Gene Ford 25 Beverly Jean Gowans Lula Fay Grimm Sharon Sue Hardman James Kyle Harman I Charles Douglas Hart Charles Robert Henderson Helen Lorraine Hart James Keith Hulley John Michael Hulley 26 J (1 i 1 A , .l JSL L Mona Lisa Kirby Carolyn Jean Knight Cecil Ray Knight Connie Lee Kelley Janet Sue Kincaid Marsha Kay Jones Wayne Dean Leach Rebecca Mae Lynch Jane Elizabeth Marshall Kenneth Keith Litzinger Janice Aileen Malone Carolyn Sue Martin Joyce Arlene Lynch Terrance Louis Markley Glenna Jeanne Mauller 29 Charles Dwayne Mayle Diane Sue Mayle Durley Junior Mayle Sharon Lee McCracken Carl Leslie McDaniel Ernest Dale McDaniel 32 Martha Ann Moats Louis Doyle Neason Richard Allen Poling Penny Diane Peters 4l Nancy Darlene Peters Larry Allen Preston Helen Lou Phillips Diana Jo Poe Margaret Ruth Proudfoot Carl Pinnell Marilyn Ruth Reager David Linn Reed Donald Ray Reed Kenneth Clinton Reed Shirley Marlene Riggleman Ruth Ringler Christine Mary Russell 34 Jeannette Lois Roach Margaret Lynn Saffel Linda Lee Shaffer 36 Larry Shaw Deborah Kae Smith V Michael William Smith Patrick Michael Spring Louis Anthony Spadafore Daniel Jay Starford Nancy J.
