VALEDICATORIAN Judy Teagarden ranks first. Judy is noted for her sunny smile that adds to her pleasing personality. She is active in many clubs at Grafton High, but also maintains an outstanding scholastic average. S ALUT ATORLAN Bobbie Stansberry ranks second. Bobbie has achieved several honors in her athletic ability. She has won many friends while attending G. H. S. and is known to fulfill her duties as a student. Bobbie likes people and shows this through her understanding of them. 13

RETIRING BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Mr. Lynn Faulkner has been part of the faculty of Grafton High School for 35 years and principal for 7 years. He attended Cornell and Harvard Universities and graduated from West Virginia University. Mr. Faulkner enjoys his Amateur Radio and traveling. He always has a smile and cheery welcome for all the students each morning. We will miss him, for he has served us well as both teacher and principal. 12

Marlene Shaw, Secretary of the Year at Grafton High School, ranked third in this year's graduating class. Her pleasant personality and intellectual enthusiasm combine to make her an outstanding student in every respect. An outstanding athlete in his four years at G. H. S. , Bob Willis, who ranks fourth will long be remembered. Bob's sense of humor makes him well liked by most of his classmates. David Shaver ranks fifth with this fine class. His higher education is going to be on the rocks --geology, that is. David has been quite active in school affairs. Carol Johnson is a quiet, conscientious person who stands sixth in her class in scholastic achievement. She has many outstanding characteristics. She is that rare person to whom one may give a task with the assurance that it will be done well. Nancy Haislip, who ranks seventh, is familiar to many as one of the G. H. S. cheerleaders. She has shown a willingness to assume responsibility as well as the capability to do a good job when a task is assigned to her. 14
