FAVORITE IN RETIREMENT Miss Mary Alice Frum is not one to talk about herself, boast, complain, or ask for anything. She was born in Morgantown, W. Va. on January 1, 1898. Her parents are William S. and Stella M. Frum. She has six brothers and one sister. Only two are living, a brother in Morgantown and one in Columbus, Ohio. She was educated m Monongalia county schools, attending Morgantown High School. She received her A.B. and M.A. degrees from West Virginia University. She has taught school for forty-one years in Richwood, Masontown, Wyden, Parsons, and Grafton, W. Va. The subjects she has taught include English, Latin, French, Spanish, history, journalism, and Basketball. It's amazing how many former students keep in contact with her. She derives great satisfaction in hearing from them and about their successes in life. She is never too busy to lend a helping hand. In other schools she has sponsored various classes, organizations, and yearbooks. She has sponsored the National Honor Society for the six years she has taught at Grafton High School. She served as President of C.T.A. (Classroom Teachers Association) of Taylor County, 1959, 1960, 1961 and secretary of A.D.K. (Alpha Delta Kappa) National Honor Society for teachers, 1961, 1962. She has taught French and Latin in G.H.S. and seems to enjoy young people. This year, 1963, ends her successful teaching career. She wants to travel and is said to have a desire to own a yarn shop. We wish her success in retirement. 3
