Lynn Faulkner, Principal B.S. E.E. AM. Mr. Lynn Faulkner has been a member of the faculty of Grafton High School for twenty nine years. He is now serving his first year as our efficient and able principal. Mr. Faulkner assumed his new duties, as principal, with a rich background and with adequate academic and pro- fessional training. He holds his degrees from West Vir- ginia University and has attended Cornell and Harvard Universities. We wish for him many happy and successful years in this very important position. Although he is principal he did not have to give up his mourner's bench, since he still teaches chemistry and physics. Potatoes fixed any way” are one of his favorite foods and though he is a very busy man he finds time to devote to his radio club and to scientific experiments. The students of Grafton High School feel that Mr. Faulkner is their friend and they think he is doing a splendid job as principal. Edward Whitescarver, Assistant Principal A.B. A.M. A new face appeared at Grafton High School in Sep- tember. Mr. Edward Whitescarver succeeded Mr. Robert W. Clayton as registrar and Assistant Principal. He came from Flemington High where he had taught for twenty one years. He is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and West Virginia University. Mr. Whitescarver has a friendly smile for everyone and is well liked by all the students. He says he likes all food, but especially a good beef roast. He expresses his regret that there are but twenty four hours in a day. Mr. Whitescarver likes to see courtesy, honesty and in- dustry as characteristics of students. He does not like the I don’t care” attitude or the lack of a sense of respon- sibility. In the performance of his many duties, Mr. Whitescarver is a great asset to our school. We extend to him a hearty welcome to G.H.S. and wish for him a long and happy period of service in our school. 9
