Besides her classes she spends many long hours directing plays assemblies and other projects for the school. 2 Miss Batten received her A B and M A degrees from West Virginia University and she also attended Duke University. In 1922 she started teaching at Grafton High and has taught here since. She has done extensive traveling visiting most of the forty-eight states.
