The theme was ‘Hawaiian Paradise’. On walking into the gym one found a bridge of green and white, spanning imitation water. It was decorated with blossoms from May Apples and Confetti. Miles of red, yellow, green, and other brightly colored crepe paper covered the gym in an octagonal shape. Around the floor were placed palms, and a palm tree stood at the entrance to the stage. Here some of our pictures were taken. The punch bar was located in a small, decorated room on the stage. The junior mothers served a wonderful turkey dinner on small card tables, decorated with small individual palm trees and place cards and memory books with a Hawaiian scene pictured on them. In the center of the tables were vases with crochetted carnations of pink and white in them. After the dinner, music for dancing was furnished by Rocco Trombetto’s Orchestra. As we danced that night, we looked around at all our guests enjoying themselves, and knew that all our work and planning was not in vain. Now as we look back upon our prom, we know that it will always hold a cherished place in our memories.
