Gaffney. Throughout our junior and senior years it was he who instilled in us enthusiasm, spirit and pride whach we will never forget Dunng our last two years in high school, he devoted many hours of his time in organizing a ring committee, he was important in making our junior and senior proms a success Mr Gaffney was responsible for or- ganizing our most successful fund raising activity during these two years, the movies shown on Friday nights As our Senior Class Advisor he gave up his Saturdays in the fall to direct the concession stand which he encouraged us to build and present as our class gift to the school This combination of effort and dedication has made our class one of the more active graduating classes of Grafton High We feel that dedicating the yearbook to Mr. William J Gaffney is a fine way to show our appreciation for making our junior and se- nior years at Grafton High memorable ones Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. The one thing to be remembered about the 76 team was it's amazing rallying power enabling them to come from behind to win many of their games. In posting a 7-2-1 record and second place in our league, many fine performances were recorded. The highlight of our season was winning the Southern Worcester County League meet, breaking ten school records, and placing seventh in the Class C District meet. The most talked about event in Grafton this year is the sprint relay. Our team is undefeated, to this point and has already broken three different records. They are now trying to qualify for the state tournament. Girls Track 1975-76 The Grafton Girl's Track team closed its first season of organized interscholastic competition with a 2-5 record. The season ending victory over South High of Worcester proved to be the highlight of the year as the teams impressive 72-33 victory fittingly marked the culmination of many months of hard work and fueled op- timistic outlooks for next year's tough schedule. Steady improvement throughout the year marked the course of the competitors, as the team point totals increased with each successive meet. With many returning letter winners the outlook for future years is indeed bright. TRACK A D CROSS COU TRY ish- -udi Aa..
