ClASS Four years ago, in Sepfember of l945, a class of sixfy-one 'lrembling buf sfarry-eyed pupils, fearfully found fheir way along fhe halls of fhe immorfal Graffon High. And as we glance back over fhe years, we find fhaf our Freshman year was very unevenfful excepf for fhe Freshman Recepfion. We'd like fo say Thank You fo fhose seniors for a wonderful parfy fhaf we shall always remember and also fo nofe fhaf we successfully made fools of ourselves iusf as our upper classmen desired. The evenf fo be recorded for posferify was fhe elecfion of very able leaders: Beffy Berfrand, presidenf: Ash- fon Derby, vice presidenfg Charloffe Allen, secre- fary: and l-lelen Johnson, freasurer. The year unbelievably flew by: soon we -were dis- missed for our summer vacafion. Jusf a momenf, please. because fhere are sfill more glorious memories of our Sophomore year! Affer a shorf summer we refurned more enfhused and eager fhan before fo G. l-l. S. fo sfarf anofher semesfer. The class, now numbering sevenfy. elecfed for our officers: Nancy Akerson. presidenf: Gilberf Anderson. vrce presidenf: Phyllis Chrisfie, secrefary: and Beverly O'Rourke. freasurer. This was indeed a splendid choice. In fhaf year we pre- senfed fhe successful Sophomore l-lop and. in Feb- ruary of fhe same year, fhe class charfered a bus and wenf fo Bosfon fo see fhe lce Follies. ln June, we wenf fo see a Red Sox game. Thus anofher year was complefed joyously. Think you have room for more memories? Lef us look af our Junior year. We numbered sevenfy-one. We were now reaching fhe heighf of fhe ladder. Our officers were: Julian Merigold, presidenf: Nancy McLaren, vice presidenf: Phyllis Chrisfie. secrefary: and Robeyrf Desmarais, freasurer. The Junior Prom came in May of fhis year. The Town Hall was beaufifully decorafed in blue and whife and music was presenfed by Tod Carlefon of Worcesfer. ln fhe same monfh came fhe Junior Cabaref. We presenfed fwo plays: The Pafchwork Quilt direcfed by Miss Chrisfine Noyes: and Bar- gains in Cafhay, direcfed by Miss Angela Phillips. We had fun rehearsing and presenfing fhem. The end of anofher year buf fruly one nof fo be over- looked! Affer whaf seemed fo be a shorf vacafion we all sfepped wifhin fhe halls of our Alma Mafer wifh fhaf wonderful old feeling. This was our lasf year in high school and we infended fo make fhe mosf of if: we have! The Seniors gave somefhing new fhis year, a Sen- ior Frolic in Sepfember. Then in November our leaders were selecfed: Dick Abboff, presidenf: Don- ald Nichols, vice presidenf: Mary Mis, secrefary: and Roberf Desmarais, freasurer. During fhis monfh we all did our besf selling Chrisfmas cards and chances on a furkey raffle. ln December we all helped fo raise funds for our Washingfon frip by sponsoring a food sale and presenfing fhe Senior class play, Summer Scene, under fhe direcfion of Miss Chrisfine Noyes. Of course we musf menfion our memorable class frip which meanf, fhaf soon, our senior class would be broughf fo a close. For fha pasf four years our feachers have been preparing us for fhis cold. cruel world of ours. and righffully and compefenfly have been helping us make our confribufions fo sociefy. - There is much fo remember: fhese memories will probably bring back enioyable and valuable fhoughfs.
