The class of 1940 assembled on September 7, l959 with the full realization that we had now attained that long- awaited title of Ufull-fledged seniors.U We started the year off with a meeting on September 20, to discuss the first big social event of the year, the Freshmen Reception. Our next meeting of importance was called on September 22, to elect officers for the coming year. Final results, after a long session of counting and recounting, showed that Robert Tompkins had been elected President for a third term. Robert Boyns was chosen Vice-President, Barbara Dickson, Secretary, and George Jordan was reelected Treasurer for a second term. Our major event of the yeer was the gala premiere of 'Molly Rushes Inn, on December 8, 1959. Our Bette Davis of the Senior Class, Miss Bette Fleming, rendered a splendid H 'performance as Molly. The adonis of the Senior Class, Jack Kennedy played the part of Richard Gordon, Molly's brother- ln-law. Constance Gordon, his wife, was played by Vivien Bailey. The element of mystery was introduced by the Un- W ,known Lady and Eleanor Sherwood played by Barbara Dickson. -Randolph Page, who was eventually nconqueredu by Miss Sher- wood was portrayed by Robert Boyns. The suave Roderick 'Ward, whose noticeable attention to Molly could not possibly have been mistaken, was played by William Gillespie. The part of Larry Lane, the typical college freshmen was played naturally by dashing George Jordan. The parts of Marcella Lansing, the self-appointed invalid, played by Evelyn Allen, Sally Carlisle acted by Marguerite Sullivan, who provided the rustic atmosphere until she met her childhood lover John Shelby portrayed by Edward Bean, ware all acted exceptionally well. Nancy Rossiter, Pierre, Vivien, Vance, Rutherford Raine, and Tom Lansing were played excellently gby Clarissa Lebel, Francis Melanson, Flora Wood, William ?ong, Etta Leighton, and William Woodcome respectively. iffhe production was also assisted by Margderite Constant, fhlfmpter, and Donald Allison, Francis Ayers, and Robert V ,WHEN the .GRAFTON HIGH SCHOOL
