The team placed 2nd in the Graettinger Christmas Tourney, Consolation winners in the Sectional Tourney, and lost in the first round of district play. Barb Petersen won the Maxine Henningsen Award and was also chosen 1st team all- conference, honorable mention as a forward in the Des Moines Register, and also in the Souix City Journal. Shelley Kulow received 2nd team all-conference honors as a guard. Mary Potter and Pat Clipperton were recognized in the all-conference standings as honorable mention guards. The Pirates were the Cornbelt Conference champions with a perfect 8 win 0 loss record in conference competition. ln addi- tion to winning the conference, the Pirates won the sectional tourna- ment and were runners up in distric play. The Pirates posted a 20 win 5 loss record throughout the season and gained recognition as one of th finest teams in this part of the state. The team effort was supreme and many Valua lessons were learned by bot coaches and players. Four Pirates gained conference recognition as Dave Ennen and Steve Moran earned 1st tea honors and Tim Kulow and John Ferrell gained 2nd team recog nition.
