A Vocal M usic This year has been a busy one as far as music is concerned. The boys' and girls' glee club went to Ayrshire, Iowa.,-. on February 15, 1950, for the Vocal Music Festival which was held under the direction of Miss Delinda Roggensack from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa. The Glee Club received a first rating at the pre-state contest at Arnolds Park and a second rating at the state contest in Storm Lake. The preliminary contest for the small groups was held at Britt, Iowa. The ratings were as follows: Shirley Rasmussen I , Patsy Masters I , girls' trio consisting of Delores Jespersen, Patsy Masters, and Gwen McWilliams I , girls' sextet consisting of Delores Jespersen, Patsy Masters, Io Ann Flannegan, Mary Bonnie Cole, Gwen McWilliams, and Catherine Elsenbast I , Helen Baumgartner II, Delores Jespersen II, Jack Platter II, Maynard Holland II, Nancy Doyle III, and Jane Wolfe III. Those who got firsts in the preliminary contest went on to the pre-state contest at Storm Lake. Those ratings were as follows: Shirley Rasmussen II, Patsy Masters II, girls' sextet Il, and girls trio II. Sextet Dolores Iesperson, Patsy Masters, IoA1m Finnegan, Mary Bamie Cole, Gwen McWilliams, Catherine Elsenbast 52.
