Grady Vocational High School have been looking forward to this day of achievement for the past four years. During our first year together, when we were a collection of the lowest type of hu- man beings on earth ffirst termersj, it seemed as though graduation was only a won- derful dream, never to be realized. School then was a chore, a long hard grind that had to be put up with day by day, for the satisfaction of our parents. lt seemed as if the only worthwhile thing about it was the time spent daily with our workshop. About the end of our second year school didn't seem so bad after all. We dis- covered that teachers were human, really quite nice when you got to know them, and there only to help us, no matter how much to the contrary it may have seemed at the moment. By the time we reached our third year, school had taken on a different meaning. lt was no longer a chore, a bothersome task, interfering with our freedom and love of the outdoors. By now we had realized that we would be going out into the world to make a living, as our fathers had done before us, and that this was an opportu- nity to make that struggle as easy as possible. When in the fourth year, we at last began to think of graduation as a reality, we were still not too confident, for we had yet to prove ourselves able to meet the standard. lt was then that we appreciated, with an awakened realization, the peo- ple responsible for making us the type of student that graduates from Grady. We now fully appreciated the untiring efforts of Mr. Becker, our principal, fwho has since been appointed Assistant Superintendent in charge of Vocational High Schoolsj to make us useful, intelligent citizens of our country. We appreciated, too, the won- derful work done by The heads of The acadernnc Technucal and vocaTlonal deparT menTs and we wash To Thank Them wholehearTedly We also wanT To Thank our guidance counselors and sensor advnsers wlThouT whom some of us rnrghT noT have made :T Speclal Thanks should also be gnven To our healTh d1recTors Teachers sTudenT and placemenT supervnsors and especially To The people responsrble for maklng our assernblnes and recreaTnonal acTnv1Tles such a source of happiness and fun Through The years IT ms any wonder ThaT now when grad.:aTuon as upon us we feel a Twrnge of re greT'P We cant help rememberung The good Tlmes we ve had The learnrng we ve acqurred The happy experrences we ve shared The frnendshups well always cher :sh Now excepT for Those who are golng on To furTher Thelr school knowledge we musT Take leave of all Thus and sTarT anew In a world of sTrucT compeTrTlon Not ThaT we are afrand of The compeTTTnon for upon graduahon a sTudenT of Grady feels a cerTann self confidence and ablllTy To su cced nn hrs chosen career wheTher IT be meTal Trades auTo mechanncs beauTy culTure woodworking needle Trades or The elecfrncal Trades buT we will mnss The surroundnngs nn whnch we spenT four very happy years We exTend greeTungs and welcome To Mr WaldT our new and very capable prrncrpal who we know will carry on rn The fine Tradmon esTablushed by Mr Beck er Under has leadership we are sure The new Grady Go be compleTed Sepf 19561 wall maTch and even surpass The records s T by us here And Thus wrTh wonderful rnemorles all abouT us and a rnlxTure of happiness and sorrow nn our hearTs, we bud farewell To our beloved Wnllnarn E Grady I I ' , . 1 ' I 1 1 I I ' 1 - - I - I - I . . , . . , 1 1 - 1 I . - . .
