This year's message was delivered by Ap polntee Gary Beebe, Let your llght SO Shine throughout the world so the work of your Father might be done 211 students, representing thirty-two states and six countries, made up the 88th graduating class of Graceland College. The assembly was addressed by Dr. David B. Carmichael, a noted car- diologist and Graceland alumnus. His theme was, Knowledge Comes, but Wisdom Lingers . Ste ven L. Anders received the Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Gald Seal Award for Outstand- ing Scholarship was awarded to three students with grade point averages of 4.00, Cheryl Lynne Fielder, Annette Marie Hughes and Sonia Rene Wheatley. music productions Tl l r H t i 5 This year there were many outstanding Fine Arts pro ductions. The orchestra gave exciting concerts including a performance at Night Out at the Shaw Center, plus a concert commemorating the three hundredth birthday of Bach and Handel. Vocal students were involved in concerts such as the Christmas Choir Concert and a Messiah performance at Easter. The bands gave many concerts throughout the year, including the Symphony Band Concert in March. Donald Brown gives solo on clarinet.
