Graceland Thru The Years As the alumni and friends of Graceland began to arrive students began their exit from the campus. Those remaining were provided with an almost continual round of events during the weekend. Festivities began early with a student coffee house and refreshments in the commons. Unlike past years students took a rather pathetic view in the annual decorations contest which resulted in the participation of only a few houses. Those students spent many late hours transforming parts of the campus from the Graceland of today to that of her former years to keep along with the theme Graceland Thru the Years. In spite of the low turnout in the activity, those participating found the experience very worthwhile and rewarding. Saturday arrived beginning a long day of activities for homecomers, Class and house reunions were held as well as the newly installed CHP reunion. Women's sports filled the morning with a number of field hockey games and a volleyball game. The biggest turnout and probably the most noted activity was the football game with Tarkio College. A martial arts review and dance rounded off the day. This years homecoming play was the Cole Porter production of Anything Goes directed by Celia Schall. The cast consited of students and faculty both and assistance was given by band members under the direction of Ken Cooper. The musical was given excellent revues by those attending and was one of the best productions of the like in recent years. Capping off the weekend was the presentation of the Distinguished Service Awards to two alumni of Big G and the Homecoming Worship service. Visitors left the campus with the remembrances of past years at the school of the hill fresh in their minds while present students began the weary job of recooperating and getting things back to normal for classes.
