Dix Pavilion Saint Elizabeth ' s Hospital Washington, D. C. We remember our early days on Psychiatric affiliation as being new and almost a different world. We entered timidly, because there was a world of faces that we did not know . . . and we were away from our own familiar hospital. But after the first week, it was a place of laughter, hurrying students, whispers and new friend s. We found the joy of discovery that we could think by ourselves and complete our assignments there as well as we could at home. We found that we could do our share toward helping people to regain mental health and return to their communities. The landmarks we remember also . . .Barton Hall, where we spent many happy hours . . .The Point, where we could almost see the City of Washington at our feet. . .The sight-seeing trips and Merrill’s where we could just socialize. We remember, the day passing grades advanced our names and our days of affiliation were over. Another experience had been added to our development in nursing. 14
