NCF MESSAGE Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28, 30 Ruth Ewert - President Nursing is a new life. New friends, new challenges. Sickness, struggles, pain, birth, and death. Add your own conflicts-be it wrong to disregard rules? To cheat in class? Are there any standards? Faced with responsibility, you look for escape? What do you do with fear, anxiety, despair, inhibition? Is it possible to have a real friend? What is life all about? Are there any answers ? We meet together in N.C.F. to discuss the questions that nag and find that there are answers in Jesus Christ. That life can have meaning, that it ' s possible to be free from fear, to enjoy responsibilities, to learn to cope. That life is to be lived --because Jesus Christ is alive and provides the resources for us--on His terms. Christian kids are finding that life can be beautiful, even in the sinking seventies. In this age of uncertainty, we can say along with Paul, I do not consider myself to have fully grasped it even now. But I do concentrate on this: I leave the past behind and with hands outstretched to whatever lies ahead I go straight for the goal --my reward the honor of my high calling by God in Christ . 1970 has been a very memorable year for M. S. N. A. We helped the M. A. R. N. salute Manitoba ' s Centennial Birthday at a gala affair in the Centennial Concert Hall. The school also generously gave everyone time off to make that long trip to the University of Manitoba ' s campus to sit-in on some of the festivities associat¬ ed with this year ' s Festival of Life and Learning. The Fort Garry Hotel was the scene of this year ' s Sweetheart Ball on February the 7th. Penny Brewer looked lovely as she represented us there. You will recall that this year ' s social programme was mostly made up of selling tickets: Vicky Doll tickets. Centennial Nite tickets. Bursary tickets and Centennial Lottery tickets ! ! You all did a fine job of selling and raising money for these projects. All in all, M. S.N. A. has had another great year. My thanks to my able assistants: Tina Hamm-my second pair of hands-Thanx Tina!
