To Our Little Sisters If you can smile and keep a cheerful manner And all the while be homesick as can be And wait for mail, yet see the mailbox empty Yet write to them of things you learn and see If you can help your roommate with her lessons And all the time be wishing you were out And practise patience, such a pleasing virtue Although you feel you would much more rather shout If you can learn to hold your tongue while speaking Abo ut teachers, doctors, nurses too. But rather tell the little virtues in them Remembering the wrong you sometimes do. If you can learn to like each person near you. Or at least to tolerate their funny ways If you can learn to keep on ever smiling And where it doesn ' t hurt a little praise. If you can come in late some Sunday evening And feel so tired you can ' t remember when And then you find your bed has been short-sheeted But simply strip it and make it up again. If you can learn to sacrifice a weekend Because you know there ' s work you must yet do Or when you think you ' re treated quite unjustly And keep the tears for just your bed and you. When all the troubles of the world confront you And yet a uniform and cap you don And go on duty ever smiling Remembering the show must carry on. If you can learn to do these things and others That seem to you so very much more worse And still you love these years of helping, learning; Congratulations ! ! i will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalms 121: 1,2 Nursing is a changing profession. Everything is progressing rapidly with more knowledge and better techniques. Kids today have a lot to ad¬ just to and cope with. Where do we turn to when we need someone we can depend on? Jesus Christ the same yesterday and today and forever says, i will never leave thee nor forsake thee. N. C. F. is a place where we can lay open both our frustrations and joys. If we honestly search for answers to our questions and doubts, we find that God and His Word have them.
