The Lancer hooters finished their best sea¬ son in history by gaining a 14-3-1 record over¬ all and a 5-0-1 mark in conference play. There were many highlights throughout the schedule. These included: second place in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament, second place in the NAIA District 21, first place in the NCCAA midwest regional, and first place in the Mid-Central Conference with no opponent scoring against the strongest defense Grace has ever fielded. Sophomore Paul Henning spearheaded the Lancer offensive attack, and is quickly being acknowleged, not just locally, but nationally. He was named to two All-American squads, placed on the MCC All-Conference team, and also the NCCAA District, Regional, and National Tournament teams. A fine crop of seniors will be leaving the squad upon graduation. All-Conference Jeff Cahill and Denny Lapp, along with Greg Leigh, Don Byler, and Eldon Grubb will all be big shoes to fill come next fall. Soccer Team-Row 1 (i. to r.): J. Brightbill, V. De Renzo, J. Cross Country The Lancer Harriers ended their season on a fine note as they placed 11th in the NCCAA. The meet was held on the home course. Even though their first two runners were injured for most of the season, Coach Mark Skiles pointed out that five different in¬ dividual runners placed first in five meets, which shows the team ' s depth. Pacing the Harriers this year was Don Dickey, who was voted Most Valuable Player and earned All-District honors. Also a fine standout this year was Garry Clark, who was voted Rookie of the Year. The 1976 Cross-Country Team: (front, I. to r.) J. Boyd, R. Toy, D. Misner, D. Dickey, J. Hammock, (back, I. to r.) J. Smith, J. Campbell, G. Clark, L. Stombaugh, Coach Skiles.
