VALLEY BUGLE OFFICERS Left to Right: James Smith, Business Manager: Wayne Evans, Associate Editor: john Thiel. Editorg Nancy Blesy. Art Editor. Absent: Judith Rossman. Business Manager. And they're olll From the word go the Valley Bugle stafl' was hard at work to produce not only the biggest yearbook GCS has ever seen, but also the finest. Many ideas and suggestions Went into the production of this book, some new, some old. We not only tried to have the book ready for earlier distribution, but we also produced a book that we feel is unique. It has been changed from cover to cover. This year a new cover was especially designed by the art staff, incorporating the senior crest with the sehool colors. Also more space was devoted to sports and activities, a very important part of the well-rounded education we received at GCS. The theme, Kiddie Kars to Hot Rodsf, was selected because of the transition it showsg a change or development from a thing of simplicity to one of complex parts and mechanisms. In this same manner we pro- gressed through school. From kindergarten, where we learned to play together, to high school, where our knowledge has been greatly increased and where we are now able to work together in the community and the nation. Now that our work draws to a close we wish to extend special gratitude to Mr. Daniel O'Day and Mrs. Marianna VVonnacott, without whose able assistance and advice, the production of this, the Valley Bugle of 1958, could not have been possible. Because our advisors have helped us with unfailing effort, we, the Class of 1958, dedicate our yearbook to Mrs. Estelle Simon, and Mr. Robert Patrick. In this way we sincerely wish to show a small portion of our gratitude to them for their expert guidance and their willingness to help us throughout our four high school years.
