fldlagazines, To 5 and hi!! .Weat Under the capable advisership of Mr. Harold Burdge, the Student Council undertook a num- ber of worthwhile projects, and encouraged stu- dent participation in Council activities. The first dance of the year was held outside in the upper parking lot. Despite near freezing temperatures, everyone had a grand time. A not so successful magazine drive took up most of October. Funds raised from this project were put in the treasury to cover Council ex- penses for this year and next, including a large donation to the Highlander Bagpipe Band. The whole school got in the Christmas spirit when the Council sponsored a Toy Drive for un- derprivileged children. The hundreds of toys brought in topped any expectations that the Council oflicers had. Basically the year was spent revising old rules and setting up new ones to make a more effec- tive Council in future years. I J?
