Graduation Party ’88 Mr. William Porter, the “father” of the new tradition in Gouverneur High, struck a wonderful idea for the 100th year anniversary of the school, a chemical fee graduation party. The Party was a definite success, but not without the laborious hours of work that were contributed by the community, staff, parents, and the class of ’88. The vibrant decorations were beautifully put together. Evolving around the exciting activities were various themes. A candle-lit walkway guilded you to the majestic main entrance where the theme displayed was, “Blast off ’88, A Night To Remember”, next the tempting, cool breeze of the “Surf’s Up” was an inviting feature for the pool. The main gym with the exotic theme “Somewhere Out There” was of planets, the silvery spaceship gleemed as the center of attention. The theme “Dreams” accompanied the casino, in the Auxiliary gym, where you could earn catbucks through games such as roulette, craps, blackjack, wheel of fortune, and many other unique games. Next you entered the “party zone” in the West Cafeteria in which some of the offered activities were; pool, videogames, table tennis, the graffiti board, and more. If food was your game then the East Cafeteria was the name. Here the endless variety of food was unlimited to your desires. Movies were also available in the auditorium to be seen at designated times. The four auctions and the door prizes were the main events of the party, which took place in the auxiliary gym and auditorium. It was evident that this was a well-designed, well-planned affair which all could be proud of, now and the years to come. v . m is i
