The Class of 1965 Presents the DEANONIAN IN MEMORIAM GLENDON BUTCH THOMAS Head Custodian Death, be not proud, though some have called thee Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not 59: For those whom thou think'sf thou dost overthrow Die not, poor Death; not yet cans? thou kill me. From Rest and Sleep, which but thy picture be, Much pleasure, then from thee much more mug flow; And soonest our best men with thee do go- Resf of their bones and soul's delivery! Thou'rf slave to fate, chance, kings, and despgera're men, And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell; And poppy or charms can' make us sleep as well And better than thy stroke. Why swell'sf thou then? One short sleep past, we wake eternally, And death shall be no more: Death, thou shalt die! -JOHN DONNE DEDICA TION If is an honor for The graduating class of 1965 to dedicate our year- book, The Deanonian, To Mr. Rob- ert Cromie. We are dedicating if to him in re- Turn for the many years of ser- vice which he gave to the stu- dents of G.H.S. We have often wondered whether We would ever finish our high school career, but now, suddenly, it is almost over. We are no longer children, but young adults. During the last six years many people have tried to prepare us for adulthood. Now it is up to us to use what we have been taught in becoming responsible men and women. SAL U TA TORIAN WILLIAM PIKE I believe that both parents and students alike will agree that a graduation ceremony takes place with a touch of sadness. However, upon graduating, we shall become the owners of a life-long gift, a high school education. This education entails not only the memorizing and repetition of facts, which is perhaps the least important, but also a better understanding of the world. I feel that my classmates will ioin me in thanking all who made it possible for us to receive such a gift. TIMOTHY GLENN ALGUIRE Little Man Intramurals I, 2, 3, 4 LAWRENCE W.
