ANNA SANDERSON SENIORS - 1957 The Class of 1957 is the last one to have the pleasure and benefit of close association with Bertha Eckmann Alex and Alita Hunter Brown. Miss Eckmann, who left us to become Mrs. Alex last October, taught English to the eleventh grade for many years. She helped us enjoy literature and made us write—and write—and write—until our lame and halting English be- came reasonably smooth and expressive. We will owe her a debt of gratitude every time we speak, read or write the rest of our lives. Mrs. Brown in the Guidance Office has opened new worlds of opportun- ity to us, making us take an honest look at ourselves and a long look ahead. We wish both these teachers every happiness. Miss Mary Beth McDonald has been with us only two years but in that short time we have enjoyed her instruction in Art and been very grateful for her help in school projects requiring an artistic touch. 20
