This is to be the final year for our high school as we know it. Because of increased enrollment and overcrowding, our familiar building must be entirely altered. The history of Dean High School dates to 1917 when the original building was built through the generous contribution of the Misses Jennie and Cora Dean, In the fall of 1937 the annex containing gymnasium. auditorium, Oral English room, cafeteria and classrooms was opened and named in honor of Judge james C. Dolan who became a member of the Board of Education in 1905 and was its president from 1910 until 1937. The third building will be the modern structure shown in the drawing on the title page. As we, the Seniors, walk through the halls the last days before graduation memories of our school life come back to us. To keep these memories we have pictured as many of the activities that take place in the building as we could. In the succeeding pages we would like to take you through an unforget- table day - from morning to night - in our dear old G.H.S.

We Honor Earl W. Riley Students and faculty alike have always been delighted by the friendly smile and warm personality of Mr. Riley. The building just would not be the same without his Irish sense of humor, those three-fifteen tea parties in his office, his assembly lectures and that cheerful Hello. Mr. Riley has a way with students that no other faculty member can surpass. He can be, and often has been, firm, but when advice is needed there is no better person to go to. He has always had a sincere interest in the school and every student in it. In return he has won the respect and liking of all those with whom he has come in contact. Xve are deeply sorry that Mr. Riley has given up his position as principal of Dean High, but we are glad that he is maintaining his interest in the activities of the school by accepting a post as assistant to the principal a11d to the guidance director. .i l
