HERALD 1980 1 Dedication We, the graduating class of 1980, would like to dedicate our year to Lucia and James Owen. Throughout our years at Gould, they have both been sup- portive in our ever-expanding ideas. Lucia Owen, as Head of the English department, has opened our minds to a more realistic view of life. Through this we will be able to grasp our new expe- riences. James Owen, as head of the Art department, has furthered our talents and revealed a new way of expressing our growth through different medias. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them for enabling us to suc- cessfully move on in life. 2 In Memoriam Lee Norton Murphy January 15,1962-May 7,1978 CLASS OF 1980 This yearbook is in memory of Lee Murphy who was to graduate with the class of 1980. Although he is not here physically, his spirit will always be with us. One must conform and adapt to many different situations. Just let this conformity remain physical and tem- porary. Determine and hold onto your deepest beliefs and your most treas- ured values. Be prepared to have your ideals challenged, but never lose them to anyone or anything, because then you will lose your individuality and yourself.
