Matthew Lalumia, Professor of Art History The Love of Art Matthew Lalumia's denial of tenure at the beginning of the year prompted protests by students. He's more than a good teacher, he's an excellent one. Another mentioned, It's a real shame. He commu- nicates his love of the art so it gets across to students, they share it and learn. One stu- dent summed up, I feel very sorry this has happened...our class wishes him the best of luck! Dri Laumials lively enthusi- asm for art was sparked as a freshman at Princeton. I took a Baroque course and I used to go to the art history Faculty 30 library. Well, I sat there and all these pretty girls would walk in. So I stayed. Thatls how I got hooked on art and it's the God's honest truth!! He laughs about the today's high priced art I just wish I had one of those artworks! Speaking wryly of the new and strange, trends in art, 99t7o of these new artists. will be forgotten and de- servedly so!
