Three down, One to go! Becca Scranton and Suzanne Guiry enjoy themselves at a spring tradition GIG llll 10 Opening This year is a special one for the Class of 1990. We've grown accus- tomed to our new role as l'upperclassi' and are now making some important decisions. Academically, this has been the year to seriuosly concentrate on our majors, start internships, and fin- ish our graduation requirements. The many new experiences we have shared together - getting elected to higher campus positions, turning twenty- one, and voting in our first presiden- tial election - have enabled us to grow both individually and as a group. As we, the Class of ,90 finish our Junior year, the realization that gradu- ation is now only twelve months away may seem both frightening and excit- ing. We have many decisions to make regarding our futures. The unity that has developed among us through our three years enables us to enter Senior year with much enthusiasm and opti- mism. Together, we will strive to car- ry out the tradition that Goucher has instilled in all of us - to live thougha fully, to work creatively, and to con- tribute significantly. - Suzanne Guiry

We're Outta Here! Enger McCartney finishes the evenings activi- ties with a quick clean-up. 1989 has been a pivotal year, it marks the end of a decade and the final end of a tradition of an all wom- en's educational institution. We are the Centennial class, the last to have entered Goucher under the premise of an all female college, and we will be the final class to be composed of en- tirely female graduates. We are a more enlightened, less na- ive bunch than our predecessors. In an age of $16,000 a year college tuition fees, many students have already tast- ed the bitterness of reality. Many of us have felt pressured from the start to select a major that is not only meaningful, but marketable, and jug- gle 20 hours a week jobs with early morning Classes and late night study sessions. Although our class is often labeled as apathetic, such is not the case. Lack of senior attendance and involvement in on-campus activities is not a sign of apathy but of being heavily commit- ted to off-campus employment, in- ternships and other priorities. Changes here taught us that simply being adept in one area is not enough in today's world, we must be multi- faced. Our class has been sculpted into women who can perform a multi- tude of tasks and perform them well. We will go into the world and be suc- cessful in our efforts. Opening 9
