DEDICATION To you, Dr. Foote, we dedicate our yearbook. From the ancient Greeks and Romans t0 the Second World War, you may not have had all the answers, but you have certainly raised all the questions, which is vastly more important. Your mastery of diverse areas of history has endued Goucher history majors with an amazingly integrated grasp of world history as well as showing them the sign- posts to the citadel of specific knowledge. Any man who can walk blithely into class and proclaim, HWe will have a mid- term on Wednesday that will involve asking a question or two, who can say that thctavian managed things like a cat, or can envision the Persians' view of the restiveness of the Greeks in Asia Minor as a case of ltHem'y, get the Flit! 0b- viously has a sincere love of history and of sharing it with his students.
