Ly n d e11 Osmond, Rodney Hulett Regional Finalist Tippy Places 3rd at State Robert Tippy put Gotebo on the map at the STATE TRACK MEET by placing 3rd in the 1600 meter run, and 7th in the 800 meter run. Going against 21 of the top run- ners in the state, Robert thrilled the Gotebo crowd by staying with the leaders to the very end. High School Baseball Baseball Team Young and Inexperienced The Hornet Base bailers fell to Ft. Cobb in the semi-finals of the District Tourna- ment and ended their season with a 9-11 record. The Hornets improved during the season, but inconsistency and inexperience hurt them. With on- ly 1 senior on the team and with 8 returning starters, look out for the Hornets in 1984. The 1982-83 Peewee boys won a first and second place trophy in the tournaments in which they competed. The f i rst place trophy came in the Snyder tournament, and the second place in the Gotebo Tourna- ment. The boys ended the season with a record of 10 wins and 4 losses. The 1982-83 Peewee girls showed much improvement during the season, and played together well as a team. It also em- phasizes decision making and works to develop leadership capabilities. FHA is the only youth organization with the family as its central focus. He is a graduate of North Dakota State U., has a Master's degree from SWOSU. and hours toward a Doctorate from East Texas State U. As Superintendent, Mr. Kirchoffner works with the School Board in handling financial affairs and strives to improve the Gotebo School District as much as possible. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees from SWOSU. Among the myriad of tasks Mr. Black performs are coordina- ting all activities, evaluating teachers, making accreditations reports, planning class schedules and taking care of enrollment and transfers. Mrs. Peggy Johnson Elementary Mrs. Johnson is serving her first year as elementary principal. She is in charge of buying textbooks and library books, making teacher evaluations, sending in elemen- tary accreditation reports to the state, helping with class schedules and keeping the attendance registers. 72 Mr. Steve Kenedy Mr. Kenedy graduated from Cameron IJ. and is in his first year of teaching at Gotebo. She has taught 2 years in the Gotebo system. Mrs. Olga Hendricks Mrs. Hendricks, Kindergarten and First Grade teacher, has taught at Gotebo for 15 years. She holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from SWOSU. Support Personnel High School Secretary Mrs. Carolyn Fox Mrs. Fox has been high school secretary for 11 years. In addition to her main job of keeping the financial records up- to-date and preparing the payroll. Carolyn does countless miscellaneous jobs and is always willing to help out when needed. Elementary Secretary Mrs. Betty Ashenfelter Mrs. Ashenfelter has worked at the school for 10'A years. She keeps all of the lunchroom records and is known as the all- around flunky” of the elementary end. Betty is an aid for the 1st and 2nd grade and assists all elementary teachers when needed. Maintenance Mr. Jim McCarty Mr. McCarty handles all the maintenance work at the school.
