Class History At the kickoff of our Freshmen year our goal was to be Seniors and to take a trip to Washington Our coach, this year, was Mr Ingold le also elected members from our line up of seventy five to guide us They were Galen Weingart, president, Gerald Stayton, vice president, Betty Denny, secretary, and Lawerence Moyer, treasurer On October 1, we broke trainixg to enjoy a hayride We also showed off our talents as performers in our annual chapel program One of the best remembered productions we called Shrimp Boats' We came back to school in the fall of 1952 as seasoned players but we did not lose sight of our goal We were under the direction of Mr Lewis and Mr Van Brooklin Again we elected officers from our teammates In Mr Lewis's room we chose Gerald Stayton, president, Bruce Weingart, vice-pres ident, Mariana Stratton secretary, and Marilyn Boopes, treasurer also elected teamates to represent us on the Student Council They were Lucille Mosher, Marsha Stratton,Beverly Wang,Donald Mercer, Naomi Headland, James Hahlen, Martha McBride, and Jerry Hoyt We imnted to have another hayride so we broke training again To make money the subs made programs to sell at the football and basketball games At the half we were so obsessed with money madness that we sold any tlrlng that we could get our hands on This was after setting our goal for 33,000 for our Washington trip The whole team sold Christmas cards, Christmas candy, hose, magazines, school supplies, and basketball pencils we sponsored two dances, two roller skating parties, bake sales, a hill billy show, a 'Mardi Gras Carnival , and our annual junior play We had to One of the major sources of income that helped us was the selling of re freshments at the football and basketball games We had to have officers so at the beginning of the half we chose Gerald Stayton, president, Betty Denny, vice president, Beverly Wang, secretary, Marilyn Hoopes and Galen Weingart, treasurers, and Marsha Stratton and Donald Mercer as assistant treasurers Our Student Council members were Bruce Weingart Jerry Hoyt, Betty Demw, James Hahlen, James btonemetz, Robert Armstrong, Ronald Bricker,Eugene Stallsm:I.th,a.nd Marsha Stratton, secretary We put on a play called 'Bolts and Nuts to get extra cash for our tmp we are happy to say that we reached om' goal At the fourth quarter we were very happy and excited because we were winning Almost every one that started the game were with us plus a few more that we picked up on the way Our leaders were Bruce Weingart, pres ident, Galen Weingart, vice president, Shirley McBride, secretary, and Rox anm. Calhoun, treasurer Our coach and leader was Mrs Humphrey We chose Cracked Nutts to be our Senior play We took time out from all hard practice and studies to get measured for caps and gowns, and to order our graduation invitations and announce ments We chose our flower, white carnation, and our class colors, green and white We had a party at Mrs Humphrey's home to break the monotonous training Most of all this year we planned our victory celebration in Wash ington and surrounding points of interest This celebration will take place after the Baccalaureate services on May 29, and Graduation on Hay 31 has been four years of practice,hard work,struggle,laughter, and love that have kept this team together Ve are sure that our team will maintain this spirit tlu-oughout its life we plan to have reunions after graduation N O . - .
