Class Histor What excitement there was on the bright sunny day of September 5, 1950 when fifty-seven freshmen assembled in the freshman home room to meet new and old friends. Mr. Matasy, our advisor, helped us conduct the election of our class officers who were: president-Galen Beck, vice-president-Bruce Reno, secretary-Eileen Bradley, treasurer-Merle Secrest. Our Student Coun- cil members were Galen Beck, Norma Miller,Bernice Sanor, and Darylene Wyse. When school opened again--there we were sophomores. During the first week of school with the help of our advisor, Mr. Van Brooklin, we elected class officers and Student Council members for the year. They were pres- ident-Galen Beck, vice president-Donald Capel, secretary-Eileen Bradley, treasurer-Darylene Myss. Dorothy Clark was our Miss Print reporter. The Student Council members were: Bernice Sanor, Myron Stallsmith,Norma Miller, and Patricia Galbreath. Our class held our yearly hayride in October. The World History Class under the supervision of Mr. Ingold went to Pittsburgh to the Museum. Miss Honaker's Biology Class visited the Cleveland Museum and Zoo. The Latin Class and teacher, Miss Middlesworth, attended the Buhl Planetarium in Pittsburgh. Then in May our class had a picnic at Dunn Eden which concluded our school activites for our sophomore year. We entered the junior room without realizing what a busy year was a- head of us. In order to start out right, we elected our officers. Our officers were: president-Galen Beckgvice president-Darylene Wyesgsecretary- Eileen Bradley, treasurer-Nancy Bricker, assistant treasurer-Myron Stall- smith. Student Council members were: Bernice Sanor, Marilyn Headland, Dorothy Clark, and M ron Stallsmith. Darylene Wyss was elected secretary of Student Council. We started our money-raising campaign to pay for our senior trip to Washington D. C. by selling food at football games. We also earned money by selling hose, sox, Christmas cards, candy, magazines, and by sponsoring bake sales, dances, and roller skating parties. we were the first class to have a carnival, which was a great success. With the product- ion of HFinders Creepersn we accomplished our goal of 32,000. We were greatly helped in our endeavor to raise money by our sponsor, Miss Honaker. Oh! At last we are finally dignified Seniors. We started this year out by selecting our class colors--navy blue and white, flower--red rose, and our motto, Nln ourselves the future lies.n Under the supervision of Mr. Ingold, October 7, we spend the day in Cleveland at the Federal Reserve Bank. We presented the play, HThe Tele- vision Mysteryn under the direction of Miss Honaker,on Friday, November 13, l953. We earned 3300 this year, which will enable us to spend four days on our trip. Now we are looking forward to the exciting night of nGraduation,n and then--Wwashington, look out, for here we come.n
