Goshen High School's Most Valuable Players are considered top athletes who have added a little extra to their teams. The award is presented at the end of the sports season, and it's decided by a team vote. The award consists of a trophy, a pic- ture in the trophy case, and a name plate, with name engraved, which serves as a per- manent rememberance in the trophy case also. When asked how it felt to be a M.V.P. Steve Weddle replied, Winning the Most Valuable Back Award this year in football was very rewarding. Even though the season ended on a sour note for me personally, I still felt some degree of satisfaction in knowing that my teammates chose me to win the award. I say this because to me there were really others on the team just as deserving. Rich Minier was voted most valuable in both Cross-Country and Track. Rich stated, lt wasn't a surprise, but it was really neat. ln track he was a regional and state qualifier in the 1600 meter run.
