In fact, some of the hassle was eliminated and students by years end anticipated the next school year. A year later, the Crimson celebrated the country's 200th birthday with a theme built around the once-in-a-life-time event. ln '77 We Put Life into GHS was the Crimson 's theme with principal Fiandt's goal to have students to do your best . The Crimson focused on people and people relationships in their many expanded activities that GHS provided. This year the Crimson staff selected Stepping Into Change because it was the year the 7 million dollar renova- tion began in the spring. Prior to renovation, other changes took place. The school served as a host to ex-president Gerald Ford and to Medowlark Lemon and his Globetrottersg experi- enced the worst winter storm in the history of the state and midwest which saw students out of school for over one week: recognized the first GHS individual state champion in modern-day history with Dave Edlund winning the 185-pound championshipg witnessed the school's first Blood Day ,' and saw the continuing theme of to do your best from the staff. We hope you enjoy this, the '77- 7B edition ofthe Crimson. '!. Lg? g ee. 'A -wr. ' Af- neg. 1 M, Q.: a af.. ,., Aa a , . am , ., -Zyl ., 'ill ,,.t - 1 4. .. ' I -NH .1 rg, HM 5 H ' . rm t ., .
