X 1:9-'L Carlyle second at state Cross-country Qffdxl - ,3-at Cross-country was more than just lt also brought- N ag., C .-. is ' S - :. ,fs-ttf-Tr Pat Extended Wins to 45 Straight x 5' Coach Carl Weaver's cross-country team in more ways than one made Goshen High School history for the second year in a row. Concluding the second, successive, undefeated season the Harriers extended their duel meet record to 45 straight wins and gained state recognition throughout the year, ranking third at the end of the season. The Harriers placed first in the South Side Invitational, ninth in the ILL--IANA Classic lcompetition between the top teams in Indiana and lllinoisl, first in Sectional, second in Regional, and third in State. Leading the attack during the season forthe Redskins were seniors Maurie Kline and Brian Warstler. WarstIer's first place finish lead the l E l' S l .ll Skins to their first Northern Lakes Conference championship while Kline lead the Redskins with a first in the Sectional, and a second in the Regional. He finished his high school career as the second fastest runner in Indiana, missing being the best by just seconds.
