Students learn to he creative in Debate, Dramatics, and Speech. Four years of study are offered with a sequence of courses designed to produce competency in our own language. Why does this element burn in water? How fast does a lead weight fall? These and the answers to many other puzzling questions can be found in the science courses offered at CHS. Each student is required to take at least one year of science. As a fresh- man, one usually fulfills this requirement by taking Bi- ology. In Chemistry, juniors and seniors have the op- portunity to perform interesting experiments and learn the composition of matter. The fundamentals of heat, electricity, light, and sound are discussed in Physicsl classes. Applied Science is a practical course open to ally who do not wish to progress further into the realm oft science. Mr. Elmer Bowers is head of GHS's Science Department. l Students in Mr. Haney's first period l Physical Science class l discuss why the earth y is round.
