Declining enrollment forced the closing of High Park dorm in an effort to use space more efficiently. The empty rooms and halls were transformed by plans to convert High Park into a bookstore and computer facility. Funds from a Title lll grant covered the pur- chase of new computer equipment, leaving Ken Kauffman, Juanita Yoder 'kan ,H Y r is, l the college with more funds for structural renovation aided by a Lilly grant. With the computer center on first floor and the book- store on second, the top two floors became available for departments needing room to expand, Social work, sociology and commu- nication were among those considered. -hh Y' 1 al i l Renovation work began early in May to create space for the two VAX 11!75O com- puters scheduled to arrive in mid-July. The new computers will provide approximately twice the computing power of the college's current model, while occupying less space, said Computer Services Director Ed C.
