Basketball The basketball team got oft' to a slow start but finished the seaaon strongly as one of the top four teams in the small col- lege state tournament. Judy Sommer and Trish Albrecht eo- eaptatned the team with the nucleus from last year's team joined by two I-lesston transfers. Karen Egli and Rita Bare: two Ball State transI'ers. Gayle Perry and Elaine Bigler 1 and three freshmen. Cheryl Mast. Sara Shenk and Ann Garl. Julie Froese and Trish Albrecht lead the team in scoring and high rebound awards were earned by Eroese and Sommer, the only senior. The team ended the season with a record of 0-7. Women's Track and Field Women's track and field records tum- bled repeatedly during the team's third year under Coach Sue Roth. The squad of 15 women set 18 records in the six meets. Two years ago, only six women competed in track. Top point-maker for the Leafs was sophomore Elaine Bigler, a sprinter. Close behind were senior distance runner Anne Crawford. freshman field perform- er Cheryl Mast, and junior sprinter Barb Carbaugh.
