The English department was busy sponsoring many activities and publications in addition to regular classes this year. A new publication. Broadside, with a one page format and featuring poetry or short stories was started. Four Pinchpenny Press books were published fEating the Buds by Cynthia Habegger, The Mare Near You by Brendan Kennally. Peter Fallon and Nick Lindsay, Green Squirreldi Other Rhvmesfor Children by Samuel Witmer and Finding Buddv Bolden: The First Man 0fJa:: by Donald Marquisj and a number of poetry workshops were held. with poets like Gwendolyn Brooks and Peter Fallan. One student. Deborah Dahlke-Scott, worked on a year long project on Land Use Ethics. . . Voices From the Limberlostf' under the guidance of John Fisher.
